Breviblock Esmolol
Beta Blocker.
Use: Treatment of SVT and hypertension.
Given by infusion of two 2.5G ampuls in 500 ml D5W or NS.
Load with 500 mcg/kg/min for 1 min. followed by 50mcg/kg/min for
4 min.
May repeat in 5 minute and increase up to 100 mcg/kg/min
Maintenance dose is reduced to 25 mcg/kg/min
